Half of every embryo comes from him.
Male factor is involved in roughly half of all infertility. It is also the half that responds fastest to change — because sperm is rebuilt on a cycle of about 72 days.
What a semen report actually says
Concentration, motility and morphology are three different things, and one abnormal value is not a diagnosis. A single abnormal report should always be repeated after 6 to 8 weeks before any conclusion is drawn.
DNA fragmentation: the hidden factor
A completely normal count can hide high DNA fragmentation — damage inside the sperm DNA that shows up as poor embryo development or early loss. It is worth asking about after unexplained infertility, recurrent miscarriage or failed cycles.
Heat is the most reversible stressor
The testes sit outside the body because sperm production needs to be about 2°C cooler. Long hours of seated heat, laptops on laps, saunas and very hot baths all suppress it — and all of it reverses.
The 90-day window
Stop tobacco, cut alcohol, lose abdominal weight, sleep seven hours, eat colour and protein, and control heat. Then repeat the test. Three months is the honest timeline.
Get his own report — in his own hands.
The assessment has a dedicated male section: semen parameters, DFI, heat exposure, tobacco, weight and sleep. It ends with a 90-day plan he can actually follow.
